Last March, there were six disturbances, one burglary and one criminal mischief report
that took place and was reported on my block! The month before there was one
assault reported. How do I know this? It’s because I am an active member of the Cellular on Patrol program and I’m in regular contact with the SAPD officers who patrol our neighborhood.
Volunteers to Patrol Our Neighborhood
I am looking to make our neighborhood safer but I need your help.Too often I hear "the police are never around when you need them". I would like to set up an active patrol to monitor our neighborhood and you can be an integral part. This patrol would be the "eyes and ears" of the police department and we will be able to give our police officers better intelligence on where the problems in our neighborhood are.
If you are tired and frustrated that concerns are not being addressed and want to be
part of the solution, please call me at 226-

Cellular On Patrol Classes...
take place at the Central Substation, 515 S. Frio. The class is very informative and gives you the viewpoint of what the police officer sees and the information he or she receives. A ride along with a patrol officer lets you experience first hand what goes on in your neighborhood.
If you have any questions regarding the COP class or other crime prevention programs,
please contact AVNA Member Kevin Cloonan (email kcloonan@flash.net) or Felipe Santos
